Florida, Arizona, Wichita State, Virginia Receive Four No. 1 Seeds

Florida, Arizona, Wichita State and Virginia are the four No. 1 seeds of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

Kansas, Wisconsin, Michigan and Villanova are the four No. 2 seeds, while Iowa State, Syracuse, Creighton and Duke are the four No. 4 seeds.

Louisville, the defending champions, received a controversial No. 4 seed, along with UCLA, Michigan State and San Diego State.

Wichita State Wins Missouri Valley Tournament

Wichita State defeated Indiana State 83-69 to win the 2014 Missouri Valley Tournament and remain undefeated entering the NCAA Tournament.

Tekele Cotton of the Shockers was named Tournament MVP.

Cleanthony Early, Fred Van Vleet, Jake Odum and D.J. Belentine were also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Fred Van Vleet Headlines Missouri Valley Conference Awards

Fred Van Vleet has won the Larry Bird Award as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. Van Vleet averaged 12.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.0 steals per conference game for undefeated Wichita State.

Cleanthony Early and Ron Baker joined teammate Van Vleet on the MVC All-Conference First Team, along with D.J. Ballentine, Jake Odum and Seth Tuttle.

On the MVC All-Conference Second Team are Tekele Cotton, Anthony Beane Jr., Jarmar Gulley, Desmar Jackson and Walt Lemon Jr.

Cotton was also named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Milton Doyle was named Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year and joined on the All-Freshman Team by Reggie Lynch, Jeremy Morgan, Austin Rider and Blake Simmons.

Wichita State Ends Regular Season Undefeated

Wichita State finished its regular season with a 68-45 win over Missouri State to remain undefeated at 31-0.

Saint Joseph's in 2004 was the last school to enter its conference tournament without a loss.

The Shockers are off to the best start since UNLV began 34-0 in 1991 and lost to Duke in the Final Four.
